Peer support is a way of providing emotional and wellbeing assistance where both the facilitator and participant are equals. It enables people to connect through their lived experiences. Peer support is supported by research as an effective pre-clinical mental health intervention.

Hand-n-Hand Peer Support

Hand-n-Hand (Helping Australian & New Zealand Nurses and Doctors) was founded in March 2020 in far north QLD.

Although it started in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the growing emotional burden that came with it, the program has grown beyond that. Today, hundreds of participants and volunteer facilitators have signed up to be a part of the growing peer support movement, from just about every healthcare profession and study imaginable, including the dental profession.
